Erie Airport Survey

Dear Erie Neighbors,

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.  Whether you were traveling or celebrating close to home, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday.

A topic buzzing around town regards our Airport’s future.  You may have seen a Town email indicating that the Town of Erie has contracted with an aeronautical consultant to revise the Town's Airport Master Plan.

As part of the effort, the town is asking for your input through a survey.

Do you want jet service to become part of Erie?   Expanding the runway to allow for much larger planes could be in our future.  How about reopening the closed runway at a significant financial cost with more plane traffic to the east and west of the airport?

A 2009 Airport Economic Study gave an understanding of the actual economic situation at the Erie airport.    The consulting company, Boyd International, did this report for Erie.  Based in Colorado, and recognized internationally as airport experts,  Michael Boyd is often on the news talking about aviation.

I would like to see the Airport become a successful, fully self sustained business in Erie.

In my opinion, the closed runway property should be used for revenue generating airplane hangars, as the Boyd study recommended. This use of the land would improve self sustainability.

We all want our property values to improve.  Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking here.

As the Holidays draw near, my family wishes you a joyful Season and healthy New Year.
